Car thief flees after crashing stolen vehicle into home

RICHMOND, VA (WWBT) - We are following a bizarre story out of south Richmond where police are looking for the driver who crashed a stolen car into a home.

It happened around 3:30 in the 600 block of West 33rd Street; that's near the intersection of Forest Hill and Semmes Avenues.

After the car crashed, police say the driver hopped out and ran away.

A building inspector checked the home, but did not condemn it.

Police say the vehicle was taken from a home on Carter Street.
