FORT LEE, VA (WWBT) - Dr. Christopher Marshall is helping his patients with acne at Family Health Clinic at the Crossings.
Avoid rubbing alcohol or alcohol-based astringents (drying agents) as they can over dry the skin and cause cracking that may make acne worse.
Oily foods and chocolate do not cause acne, oily skin does. Avoid heavy foundation makeups and use oil free sunblock.
If acne fails to respond to conservative management or becomes inflamed and cystic see your doctor.
