Water authority lifts voluntary water restrictions

CHESTERFIELD, VA (WWBT) - Recent rains have caused the Appomattox River Water Authority to lift the call for voluntary water restrictions.

The decision was made Saturday morning when water began flowing over the spillway of the dam at Lake Chesdin.

Friday the reservoir was holding steady at 18 inches below the dam.

The voluntary restrictions were enacted just over a week ago.

The reservoir serves the cities of Petersburg and Colonial Heights and also residents in Chesterfield, Dinwiddie and Prince George.
