RICHMOND, VA (WWBT) - A Richmond-based company is set to make a significant investment in its Covington plant.
MeadWestvaco will pour $285 million into the facility to build a state-of-the-art biomass boiler.
The new boiler is expected to allow the plant to make it's own power.
MeadWestvaco is an international packaging company with more than 17,000 employees worldwide.
It's headquarters are in downtown Richmond and the company employs more than 2,000 Virginians.
