We're learning more tonight about the Henrico elementary teacher accused of having an Internet affair with an underage girl.
48-year-old Ty Levy teaches fifth grade at Gayton Elementary and coaches tennis at Deep Run High school.
Levy has been charged with 9 felonies and 3 misdemeanors including child pornography, unlawful contact with a minor, and indecent exposure.
The charges stem from an alleged Internet affair using Skype, Levy had with a young girl all the way from South Williamsport, Pennsylvania.
According to the detectives the young girl revealed her true age of 15 since the beginning of their involvement in 2009.
However, detectives say Levy originally told her he was a 17-year-old boy with a different name.
Later he said he was 28, after that - 30 - then changed it again to 40-years-old.
Authorities in South Williamsport - a suburban town of just 7,000 say the girl's parents notified police last fall.
"We're horrified by the allegations obviously, Henrico Police contacted us today we immediately did what we needed to do," said Mychael Dickerson of Henrico Schools.
Henrico schools said Levy was hired on in 1996.
One Gayton Elementary School Parent talked to us anonymously.
"Henrico school system called us right that afternoon and left us a recording…well shocked and you know, concerned that these type of things happened and a teacher we know fairly well it's unfortunate and in a way you hope it's not true," the parent said.
Detectives tell me Levy and the girl had a brief meeting in person, at a public place near her home in Pennsylvania.
Henrico police are now checking to see if Levy committed crimes locally.
"We certainly hope that there is nothing inappropriate that's happened with our students," said Dickerson.
