RICHMOND, VA (WWBT) - Pronto Restaurant at 5625 West Broad Street in Henrico hasn't had any critical violations in more than a year. So it's a surprise that it had 5 critical on its last inspection.
One problem was that raw chicken was stored above cooked pasta, a hazard because the chicken juice could drip onto the pasta. Pronto corrected one violation pronto. Management did not return our call for comment and a follow-up inspection report is not yet available.
It was another raw meat problem at Mandarin Palace Restaurant at 2811 Hathaway Road in Richmond, which had 4 critical violations. Among them, raw beef, chicken, and shrimp were cold holding at improper temperatures. They have to be chilled to at least 41 degrees Fahrenheit. The manager declined to talk to us on-camera, but violations were corrected during the inspection.
Finally, also in Richmond, Little Mexico Burrito Chop and Catering at 308 North Laurel Street had 4 critical violations. The report says knives were soiled to sight and touch. This and other violations were corrected. The manager also declined to be interviewed.
