RICHMOND, VA (WWBT) - Three men have been arrested in the shooting death of Michael Brown Jr.

Cory L. Worthington, 22, of the 2900 block of Ralph Boulevard, Giovanni M. Williford, 22, of the 1700 block of Jacqueline Street, and Willie T. Seaward III, 22, of the 1600 block of Jacqueline Street have been charged with the conspiracy to commit murder.

Richmond Police said they are confident one of the men is the shooter. That charge, and possibly other arrests, could be in the works. Police add they are confident these three involved are not the only ones involved in the crime.

Witnesses said the shooting happened in an alley off Fourth and East Main streets after a fight inside the Aurora nightclub in the early morning hours of March 13.

Brown was found shot outside the club and he later died at the hospital. Brown, 20, was celebrating his birthday and a recent acceptance into college the night he was killed.

Today, investigators talked about the challenging and rewarding experience its been since this investigation began back in March. Investigator Rick Edwards says this murder was the one murder he had to deal with for the entire time of the investigation.

Brown's dad actually died about a month ago. The family says it's over the grief he suffered because of his younger son's death.

Back in March, Brown made an emotional plea for the killer to come forward. Police told us today that the tips really started to come in once Brown Senior died.

"He was my best. My very best. And for him to be gone like this, it doesn't make sense and I want him off the streets," says Michael Brown, Senior, the 20-year-old's dad, said in March.

Police add, they do know Brown Junior and the three men charged did not know each other. That actually helped make this investigation even harder.

Police say it was the help of the community, along with evidence collected at the scene, that helped lead them to these three men.

The three men were on police radar for about a month.

Investigators say they talked with Brown's mom yesterday and it was emotional for all involved, including the investigators. Now, the family that suffered a double tragedy is starting to get some justice.

The investigation continues, though. If you know anything about this crime, police are asking you to call them or CrimeStoppers at 780-1000.
