UPDATE: Soda spilled all over Interstate 64 Eastbound

HENRICO, VA (WWBT) - Traffic was backed up Monday night on Interstate 64 eastbound just past the Staples Mill exit. A truck carrying Coke products spilled all over the road creating a sticky mess.

The crash happened shortly after 8 p.m. Monday night

Virginia State Police said the drinks shifted inside the truck, causing the accident. Crews were out all evening cleaning up the thousands of bottles.

We're told the driver, 20-year-old Marvin Lopez of Landover, Maryland was taken to the hospital with minor injures.

The crash remains under investigation. There's no word on if the driver will face any charges.
