RICHMOND, VA (WWBT) - Richmond Fire investigators are looking into what caused a building to go up in flames overnight.
The fire started just before midnight at the Massey Wood and West building in the 1700 block of Westwood Avenue, off of North Boulevard.
The big concern was the propane tanks that were inside.
Massey Wood and West uses that building as a drop off station for people who want to refill their propane tanks. Most of those tanks were empty at the time of the fire.
When firefighters arrived, they had to cut through a fence to get to the building.
The fire was out in about half an hour. It didn't spread to any other buildings.
Part of the roof is sagging and a lot of equipment was damaged — all of it worth $200,000 to $300,000.
