Heat warning for Monkees concert

RICHMOND, VA (WWBT) - If you are coming out for the concert Wednesday night you are allowed and urged to bring two sealed water bottles, 24 ounces or less, but no coolers are allowed.

Doors still open at six, but the Monkees concert has been delayed 30 minutes due to the expected extreme temperatures. The performance will now start until 7:30.

Other tips for beating the heat on Wednesday include keeping hydrated all day long, not just when your outside and that will help you stay cool.

Also, wear light colored clothes, and stay indoors as much as you can.

Stay in that air conditioned car as long as possible before braving the heat.

Doctors tell us that overall, sunburn is the most common heat related injury, so don't forget to put on the Sun Protection Factor to protect yourself while you're standing in line Wednesday evening.
