Naked man seen walking through Food Lion

HENRICO, VA (WWBT) – A naked man is seen walking through a Food Lion grocery store near two women and a child. Tonight police tell us he was drunk.

Police arrested 55-year-old Donald Henn. They say he took off his clothes at the Food Lion on Quioccasin Road near Regency Mall this past Memorial Day. None of the neighbors could explain why someone would do this, but it was one of the hottest days so far this season and they all believe alcohol played a major factor.

It was a Memorial Day the neighbors in Henn's Henrico County apartment complex will always remember. They tell us they saw him running naked through the parking lot.

"The police were out here and we pretty much seen it when they were carrying him to his car," said neighbor, Christopher Payton. "Naked!"

It all began at the nearby Food Lion. Police tell us Donald Henn walked past two women and a child inside the store, took off his clothes and exposed himself. Police were called to the scene and just a short time later they tell us that they found Mr. Henn hiding behind a dumpster naked. He still had alcohol on him. They were able to charge him with public intoxication and indecent exposure.

"I would have called the cops probably myself," laughed next door neighbor, Joshua Gootam.

The bizarre situation was enough to make most neighbors laugh nervously. Though not exactly friends, they all knew Donald Henn.

"I saw him a couple of times walking with beer cans and offering me beer," said Gootam.

And neighbors tell us this is not the first time they've encountered this man. Unfortunately, Henn was not home when we stopped by, but his home is close to the Food Lion, just over a fence. These neighbors just hope he gets help.

That indecent exposure charge is just a misdemeanor. We're told that the child at the grocery store did not see him naked otherwise Henn would be facing a felony charge. We have learned that Henn has a history with alcohol according to police.
