RICHMOND, VA (WWBT) - A man told police he was wounded in a shooting on a South Richmond street late Thursday night, according to the Richmond Times-Dispatch.
A police spokesperson said the victim underwent surgery for a thigh wound after a friend drove him to Richmond Community Hospital following the shooting.
Police said the victim said he was walking down the 4000 block of Dunston Avenue, a short distance south of Forest Hill Park, when he was confronted and shot by an unknown male at 11 p.m.
The man reported the shooting after he got to the hospital. A detailed suspect description was not provided.
