Bond sale for Cloverleaf Mall demolition

CHESTERFIELD, VA (WWBT) - Plans are moving ahead for the demolition of the old Cloverleaf Mall in Chesterfield County.

Early projections called for the property to be cleared by now, but some formalities held up the work.

County leaders are meeting today to work out final details that will allow them to begin selling bonds. That money which will pay to clear the site on Midlothian Turnpike.

Kroger has already signed on to build a new store similar to the one in Short Pump in Henrico County.
