Resilient Raiders beat Hanover for title

HIGHLAND SPRINGS, VA (WWBT) - The extra game, needed extra innings, and in the end it was Atlee standing tall as Capital District champions.  The Raiders scored two runs in the top of the seventh, and then one in the top of the tenth, beating Hanover 5-4 at Highland Springs High School Monday night.

Both teams were tied at the top of the Capital District standings at the end of the regular season, forcing a one game playoff for the district title, and the automatic berth in the region playoffs.

Kenner Berry drove in the game-winning run in the top of the tenth for Atlee.  Hanover had a runner thrown out at home, and another picked off third in the bottom of the tenth.
