HENRICO, VA (WWBT) – Police say the victim of a possible home invasion was assaulted and wrapped in duct tape overnight.

It happened inside a home in the 9500 block of Gardenia Drive near the intersection of Woodman and Hungary Rd.

Police say the man called for help after escaping his bonds around 10:00 Sunday morning.

In addition to money and jewelry, police say the thief took a television and the victim's car.

No serious injuries were reported, but police say the victim was taken to a nearby hospital for treatment.

Officers have just begun their investigation. No word on how the suspect gained access to the home.

Anyone with information that could help police is urged to call Crime Stoppers at 780-1000.
