Community fundraiser for teen paralyzed in diving accident

CHESTERFIELD, VA (WWBT) - A Chesterfield community will come together to support a teen paralyzed in Panama.

Kasey Crute was paralyzed from the chest down after a diving accident.

The donation fund to cover her medical bills has reached $30,000.

Crute's alma mater, Matoaca High School, is hosting a three-mile walk at Camp Thunderbird Sunday afternoon. The camp is located off Shawonodasee Road in Chesterfield.

The cost is $10; registration is at 2:00 p.m. and the walk begins at 3:00 p.m.
