Chesterfield parent arrested again at bus stop

CHESTERFIELD, VA (WWBT) - Chesterfield County Police responded today to a bus stop in the 5100 block of Hackney Road for a report of a parent causing a disturbance. The parent involved in today's disturbance was arrested Monday for brandishing a weapon at the same bus stop.

Police received a call that a mother had come to the bus stop Tuesday morning, May 17, and pulled her car in front of a school bus, obstructing its path. Once she exited her car, she began walking toward the bus and yelling and cursing. The bus was unable to continue on its route until the mother moved her vehicle. The bus driver then contacted police.

Upon completion of the investigation, police arrested 33-year-old Shiquita D. Reed, of the 5100 block of Hackney Road, on one misdemeanor count of disorderly conduct. No students or staff members were injured in this incident.

Previously, Reed was arrested Monday and charged with five misdemeanor counts of brandishing a firearm after threatening students at the bus stop with a gun.
