HOPEWELL, VA (WWBT) - A man charged with shooting at a home day care center this past Thursday morning was in court today via video for an advisement hearing.
There were four toddlers and one adult were inside the day care at the time of the shooting.
Police say 24-year-old Darren Greene pulled the trigger. Greene now faces multiple charges including shooting into an occupied dwelling.
He was appointed an attorney at today's hearing. He will be back in court Tuesday at 10:30 a.m. for a bond hearing. At the bond hearing, they're expected to set a date for the preliminary hearing.
Police say the shot was fired from Greene's home in the 3300 block of West Broadway. Multiple pellets from that round entered the home day care center which is located on the backside of Greene's home.
