Arrest made in Powhatan homicide

POWHATAN, VA - On Tuesday, Powhatan Sheriff's Office deputies and investigators responded to a residence on Old Confederate Cemetery Road in Powhatan County in reference to a shooting with multiple victims.

Upon arrival, officers found a black male, deceased, on the roadside.   He was identified as Dante J. Holloway, 23, of Richmond.

A second male victim went to a nearby residence, seeking assistance.  Due to this on-going investigation, the second victim's identity is being withheld at this time.

At the time of this release, Joe Lewis Harris, III, of Richmond, 19, has been arrested in connection with this crime, charging him with four felonies, including First Degree Murder; Prohibited criminal street gang participation; Use, attempt to use or display in a threatening manner a firearm while committing or attempting to commit First Degree Murder; and Malicious Wounding.

Harris is currently being held without bond.  Arraignment date not set at the time of this release.

This arrest is a result of a collaborative effort on the part of Henrico Police Department, Richmond Police Department, Chesterfield Police Department, U. S. Marshals Service, the FBI and Powhatan Sheriff's Office.  Investigation into these crimes continues.
