Mondial Assistance moving into old Circuit City headquarters

HENRICO, VA (WWBT) – The old Circuit City headquarters is about to be re-energized.

Mondial Assistance, a travel insurance provider employing 900 people, announced that it will lease Deep Run One located in the Deep Run Office Park on Mayland Drive.

The company currently leases space on Parham Road and at Innsbrook. In 2012, operations will be consolidated into the 238,000 square foot building at Deep Run One.

"We are not a small company anymore but we still want to preserve the small company culture that values teamwork and camaraderie among all associates," said Jon Ansell, CEO of Mondial Assistance in a statement. "Bringing everyone back under one roof is important to maintaining that culture."

According to the company, Mondial Assistance is the region's 34th largest private employer, with 900 associates. The company expects that number to be over 1,000 in 2012.

Circuit City declared bankruptcy and went out of business in 2009.
