STANDARDSVILLE, VA (AP) - Authorities are investigating a triple slaying in Greene County.
Maj. Randall Snead of the county sheriff's office says officers found the bodies of two male victims and one female victim about 3 a.m. Tuesday morning lying on Octonia Road north of Stanardsville, which is about 25-30 miles north of Charlottesville. All three suffered gunshot wounds.
Snead said at a news conference Tuesday that officers discovered the bodies after investigating a home-invasion robbery about 1-2 miles away on Ford Avenue. The three victims didn't live on Octonia Road or at the home on Ford Avenue. Investigators think the two crimes are linked, and said the suspects likely knew the victims.
Authorities found a damaged vehicle in Albemarle County that they think is connected to the crimes. They declined to release details about the victims or suspects.
