Americans celebrate Osama Bin Laden's death

RICHMOND, VA (WWBT) - Crowds all over the world are celebrating Osama Bin Laden's death, especially here in the U.S.

People broke out in chants of "U.S.A.! U.S.A.!" at Ground Zero in New York. They also began singing "God Bless America."

A small crowd also chanted outside former president George W. Bush's Texas home.

They waved flags and held signs thanking Mr. Bush.

He issued a statement saying Bin Laden's death shows, "no matter how long it takes, justice will be done."

Those thoughts were echoed on the NBC12 facebook page.

Steve Mahoney wrote, "thank you to all of our troops. Thanks to the president, along with his administration as well as the Bush administration, for all of their hard work."

Patricia Ross wrote, "U.S.A. now we pray for peace... lord heal our lands."

Today will certainly be an emotional day for many Americans.
