Traffic light project to begin today

RICHMOND, VA (WWBT) - In just a few hours, one intersection in Richmond will be getting a whole lot busier.

On Forest Hill Ave. between West Kenmore and East Cherokee you'll be dodging other cars, and construction vehicles too.

Old traffic lights at that area are being replaced, but city crews will be working on more than just those lights.

They'll also be adding pedestrian crossing signs and fixing up the sidewalks. People who live in that area say they are ready for the changes.

Similar work is going on in other parts of the city too, including a major project on Grace Street.

The work on Forest Hill Ave is scheduled to take four months.
