Thousands in town for race weekend

HENRICO, VA (WWBT) - Thousands are getting ready right now for the big NASCAR weekend here in Richmond, and if you're heading to the track you'll notice some big changes.

Good news for fans. This year you can bring in a cooler up to 14x14x14 in size. That is six times larger than the previous cooler rules.

Also, you can bring in one backpack and day bag with you.

Another new rule this year, you won't be able to smoke in or in front of the grandstands.

But you can still smoke underneath and behind the grandstands, in all parking lots, and on the midway.

Changes were also made to the grandstand. The seats are wider, so more you'll have more room to sit.

Also, when you walk around the concourse you'll be able to watch all the race action. Twenty new flat screen TV's have been installed.
