RICHMOND, VA (WWBT) - The Richmond man who spent nearly three decades behind bars for a crime he didn't commit, now has a job!
The Times Dispatch reports Thomas Haynesworth is working in the State Attorney General's office as an office technician. He's working in the mailroom and supply room.
Haynesworth was convicted for a string a rapes in Richmond and Henrico.
Recent DNA results eliminated Haynesworth as the culprit.
After serving 27 years Haynesworth was released from prison last month.
A spokesperson with the Attorney General's office says, " we can never restore the years of freedom Haynesworth lost, but a job gives him chance to start rebuilding his life."
