CHESTERFIELD, VA (WWBT) - It was a war of words tonight between Chesterfield public school board leaders. The fight is over solutions to the districts capacity issues and the recent superintendent's update.
Doctor Newsome presented before the board an option to resolve capacity issues that focused on Cosby High School. The freshman class of 2012 could be rezoned to Manchester High School, but that option overlooked others previously discussed.
"Tonight Monocan nor Midlothian were mentioned as options in relieving the overcrowding," said Mr. Rajah.
Parents aren't took happy with the superintendent's option either.
"Then you have the public come and you see some arguing between board members it makes you think that decisions are not being made in the best interest of your children," said Sallee Justis.
While some board members came to the superintendent's defense it's clear that Chesterfield Public Schools is still a long ways away from solving the district's overcrowding issue.
