Goochland makes arrest in store robbery

GOOCHLAND, VA (WWBT) - Early this morning, elements of the Goochland County Sheriff's Office arrested Michael Wayne Duncan, 37, of Gum Spring, Virginia.

Duncan was arrested for the robbery of Taylor's Country Market located at 1535 River Road West (Route 6) in Crozier. The robbery took place around 8:11 p.m. on Tuesday.

Duncan was taken into custody without incident at his residence in the 3500 block of Broad Street Road. Deputies executed a search warrant of the residence and recovered evidence from this robbery and another robbery in Chester.

Duncan has been charged with armed robbery and use of a firearm during the commission of a felony. He is being held in Henrico County Jail without bond. Duncan is scheduled for arraignment on Monday, April 25, at 8:45am.

    Two people displaced after fire destroys Richmond home

    Two people are being helped by the Red Cross, after a fire broke out at their Richmond home. Crews tell us the fire broke out in the 5500 block of Campbell Avenue around 10:55 this morning. When they got on scene, fire crews saw flames coming from the back of the home. They were able to get the fire under control in about 15 minutes. Officials say everyone got out safely, but the damage was so bad, that a man and woman living in the home have to find a new place to live.
