New Passenger Bill of Rights comes out today

RICHMOND, VA (WWBT) - If you're planning to fly you'll soon be treated a little better! The Department of Transportation is updating its current version of the Passenger Bill of Rights.

The new rules will require airlines to let you know about all the fees and taxes you may encounter before you book.

You will also get your bag fee money back if your bag is lost, or if you are involuntarily bumped from a flight.

Another change is to international flights. Airlines will only be allowed to keep you on the tarmac for a maximum of four hours.

These new rules are said to take effect August 23rd.
