RICHMOND, VA (WWBT) - Six city workers charged in an overtime scandal in Richmond will be tried in May.
The men appeared in court Tuesday morning on the misdemeanor charge of obtaining money by false pretenses. They are all employees of the Department of Public Works and the Department of Public Utilities for the city.
They are accused of padding their schedules with overtime hours they never worked.
Robert Smallenberg, an attorney for five of the six men said, "Unlike the City of Richmond, we are not going to try this case in the media."
