CHESTERFIELD, VA (WWBT) - Tonight, Chesterfield County supervisors will tell the Commonwealth of Virginia they plan to extend deer season for bow hunters.
The season will now start in September and end in March. The move is designed to control the urban deer population.
There are rules -- you can only hunt deer with no antlers, must stay 150 feet away from buildings, and have permission to be on the property.
Other local communities such as Richmond and Colonial Heights also take part in the program.
