Amherst County mother sentenced to six years

RICHMOND, VA (WWBT) - An Amherst County mother is going to spend six years in prison after she waited too long to take her burned baby to the hospital.

In January of 2009, Sadrina Busick's son was sent to the hospital with third-degree burns.

A judge found Busick guilty of malicious wounding and child neglect.

Prosecutors in the case say Busick's boyfriend poured scalding liquid on him.

Busick's son also suffered from broken ribs.
