Man rescued from James, recovering from hypothermia

RICHMOND, VA (WWBT) - A man is recovering from hypothermia following a late-night "water rescue" on the James.

Witnesses tell firefighters they saw the man fall into the river shortly after 8 p.m. Sunday night.

It took about 45 minutes to find him. He was picked up near the Lee Bridge.

We're told he has mild hypothermia. He's was sent to the hospital for treatment.

This is the third water rescue in just the past few days.
