INTERVIEW: Del. Delores McQuinn, Slave Trail Commission

RICHMOND, VA (WWBT) - It's nearly 10 years in the making.  This weekend, the city will finally unveil markers for the Richmond Slave Trail.

The nearly 4-mile trail goes from south Richmond into downtown and Shockoe Bottom. Seventeen markers will be placed along the path sharing the history of slavery in Richmond.

The event is this Sunday, April 10 from 3-5 p.m. in the afternoon at the Lumpkin's Slave Jail archaeological site.

Delegate Delores McQuinn has been spearheading the Richmond Slave Trail project and joined NBC12 First at Four to talk more about it.
