HENRICO, VA (WWBT) - Richmond, Henrico and Virginia State Police continue to search for a bank robbery suspect.
Richmond Police say the Union First Market Bank in the 3500 block of W. Cary Street was robbed shortly after 11:00 this morning. No injuries were reported in the robbery, which took place in Richmond's Carytown neighborhood.
Shortly thereafter, a significant police presence developed at the intersection of Gaskins and Quioccasin Rds. in Henrico's west end. Police had reason to believe the suspect was in the area, but no arrests were made. Police remained on scene as of 2:00 p.m.
Three Henrico schools (Pemberton ES, Pinchbeck ES and Byrd MS) also were put on lockdown around 12:10pm, but returned to normal operations ten minutes later.
