Sentencing scheduled in beating case

RICHMOND, VA (WWBT) - The man convicted of beating an elderly woman during a home invasion in Louisa finds out his punishment Monday.

Ramone Houchens could spend the next 30 years behind bars — that's what a jury recommended back in December.

Houchens was found guilty of beating and robbing Lois Rosson in her home back in May.

Houchens admitted to breaking into her house, but denied touching her.

Rosson was beaten in her own bed. The attack left her blind in one eye.

Her family says she also has memory loss and feelings of anxiety.

During the trial, Houchens's mother appeared to be very angry. She says she still believes her son is innocent.

A jury thought otherwise, and Houchens was found guilty.

We will be in the Louisa courtroom when the judge hands down Remone Houchens' sentence.

We'll bring you that information as soon as it happens on air, online and through the NBC12 app for your smart phone.
