RICHMOND, VA (WWBT) - The Environmental Protection Agency has come under a lot fire recently. Businesses, communities, even members of Congress are blasting its regulations as too strict.
Politifact Virginia decided to take a closer look at a statement from Southwest Virginia congressman Morgan Griffith.
On the house floor, he said "not even expensive bottled water, like Perrier and Evian, are of good enough quality to pump out of mines in southwest Virginia, according to the EPA regulation."
Are the standards really that strict? According to Politifact, that statement is "barely true."
Jacob Geiger of the Richmond Times-Dispatch joined First at Four to tell us why his experiment proves it.
