RICHMOND, VA (WWBT) - A Chesterfield restaurant was put on notice to clean up its act. A follow-up inspection shows that it did. Here's this week's Restaurant Report.

It happened in Chesterfield at Kanpai Japanese Steakhouse, 10438 Midlothian Turnpike. The inspector's report noted 6 critical violations, including that dishes and serving bowls were soiled.

The report says basic food safety principles were not being practiced and the restaurant would be sent a Notice of Alleged Violation. But the restaurant only had one critical violation on a follow-up inspection ten days later, the others had all been corrected. We contacted Kanpai, but did not receive comment.

Moving to Richmond, Roxy Café at 1104 West Main Street had 4 critical violations. The inspector wrote that food was in contact with soiled spatulas at the flat top grill. Violations were corrected during the inspection and Roxy Café had a perfect score on its follow-up inspection.

And finally in Henrico, China King Chinese Restaurant at 4362 South Laburnum Avenue had 7 critical violations. The report says a worker was eating in the kitchen and stirring food. One critical violation was corrected right away. No follow-up report is available yet. We contacted the restaurant but did not receive comment.

One restaurant really stands out for cleanliness this week. Arby's at 7400 Midlothian Turnpike in Chesterfield wins the NBC12 Hall of Fame Award. The fast food eatery earned perfect scores on 4 inspections in a row.
