Accused stabbing suspect in custody

RICHMOND, VA (WWBT) – The man accused of stabbing another man Friday evening has been arrested.

Police say 52-year-old Roger James Jr. was taken into custody around 3:00 Saturday morning.

James has been charged with malicious wounding for his assault of 55-year-old Calvin Howell.

Howell was stabbed in his home in the 2500 block of Wright Avenue; a home police say he shares with James.

Howell later died later at the hospital.

It's still unclear what led up to the stabbing.

Police say James may face more charges as the investigation continues.
