HENRICO, VA (WWBT) - Tonight's Featured Fugitive is wanted by Virginia State Police for failing to register as a violent sex offender. In July of 2005, William Maurice Hudnall was convicted in Westmoreland County circuit court.

"This individual was originally convicted of abduction and carnal knowledge of a child between the ages of 13 and 15 years old," said Tim Miller of the Virginia State Police.

Hudnall served his time and was released as a sexually violent offender under supervision through parole. Last year his probation officer discovered he had not registered his most recent employer with the sex offender registry.

"Found that he was working for a masonry company and was located out of the state in Fort Jackson, South Carolina," Miller said.

South Carolina authorities arrested Hudnall and extradited him to Virginia.

"In the meantime, I was still conducting my investigation.  He was released on bail at that point," Miller said.

Miller's investigation found Hudnall was not living at his registered address and warrants were again issued for his arrest. Hudnall is also wanted for eluding police, hit and run, and reckless driving.

"Those charges stem from an attempt to take him into custody," he said.

Hudnall was raised in Westmoreland County and police believe he may still be in the area.

"There's a strong possibility he could be in the Westmoreland, Northumberland, the Tappahannock area," he said.

Police are looking for any information that will help get Hudnall off the streets.

"Him being out in the general public and we have no idea where he's at, where he's living, where he's working that's a strong safety issue for the general public for us," Miller said.

If you have any information about William Hudnall or any other fugitive from justice call 345-1212 now.  Officers will be standing by until 6:30pm tonight.
