Hassell Jr. to serve six years in prison

HENRICO, VA (WWBT) - Leroy Hassell Jr. was sentenced to 15 years -- 11 suspended -- for robbery, then 12 months each misdemeanor charges of unlawful entry and brandishing firearm. He will serve a total of six years.

Hassell, the son of the late former Virginia Chief Justice, Leroy Hassell Sr., pled guilty in December.

Hassell Jr. was one of two men involved in an incident on Libbie Avenue in Henrico County in July 2010. Police say a man was beaten with a baton and gun during a robbery.
