Two hit by car in accident at Henrico Doctor's Hospital

HENRICO, VA (WWBT) - Around 10:30 a.m. Tuesday morning, a vehicle was approaching the valet at Henrico Doctors' Hospital Forest Campus when the driver pushed the gas pedal instead of the brake pedal, according to the spokesperson for HCA.

He driver was attempting to use the valet service when his foot slipped off of the brake, according to Henrico police.  As a result, he drove into the main entrance, striking one victim as he walked out.  That victim was thrown to the sidewalk (later transported to VCU Medical Center with non-life threatening injuries).

The second victim was injured when he was struck by a newspaper box that had been hit by the car. That person was treated at Henrico Doctors with non-threatening injuries.

Michael Kiple, 73, of Warsaw, was charged with reckless driving. Kiple also remained at Henrico Doctors for an evaluation.
