RICHMOND, VA (WWBT) - Richmond's mayor say's he supports a plan to bring more shopping near Carytown.

Tammy Hawley, the press secretary for Mayor Dwight Jones, said "he really sees this as an opportunity to secure more retail for the city."

The project is called Carytown Place, and would convert an old Verizon building on North Nansemond into a retail center with a Fresh Market grocery store.
