RICHMOND, VA (WWBT) - A sex offender is in trouble with the law for allegedly going to a Chesterfield County school.

Lorenzo Boykin is out on bond Tuesday morning - the Petersburg man is a convicted sex offender.

The school's ID scanning system pulled up that red flag.

According to the Hopewell News, the 45-year-old says he went to the school to give his nephew lunch money.

He turned himself over to police.

According to state police records, Boykin was convicted back in 1989 for a rape in Baltimore.

20 years later, he was convicted again for failing to register as a sex offender in Prince George County.

His next court hearing is on April 20.
