RICHMOND, VA (WWBT) - Showers, some heavy, fell well in advance of a cold front that will be crossing the region this evening. It appears that the threat for severe storms has greatly diminished, with deep westerly winds an inhibiting factor.
However, there could still be some gusty winds, and the far southeastern parts of the state are still outlooked by SPC for a slight risk of severe storms through this evening.
From Tuesday through Friday it looks like we'll have a quiet period of weather, with cool temperatures to start, followed by warming readings into the weekend.
Our next good chance for rain will be later in the weekend with the approach of another strong cold front.
