Schools to move toward tablet computers

RICHMOND, VA (WWBT) - Henrico County Schools plans to stop buying textbooks and use that money to make learning digital.

School leaders want to replace them with tablet computers like the iPad.

Henrico was the first school district in the nation to provide laptops to every high school and middle school student.

Superintendent Patrick Russo told the Times-Dispatch that he hopes to get tablet computers in students hands in two years.

Students will start using digital textbooks next year.
