UPDATE: Charges certified against DUI suspect

Posted by Phil Riggan – email

RICHMOND, VA (WWBT) - The illegal immigrant, who is facing several charges in a deadly Hanover County DUI crash, made an appearance in court Wednesday.

Two felony charges were certified to the grand jury, one for aggravated involuntary manslaughter and another for DUI maiming. The grand jury will meet on March 15.

Prosecutors will try to prove they have enough evidence against Feliciano Aguas-Suarez to send him to a trial.

Suarez is facing several charges, including involuntary manslaughter and driving under the influence.

Back in November, over Thanksgiving weekend, police say Suarez was drunk and swerved into another car, killing 23-year-old Casey Bohr.

The crash sent Bohr's SUV into an embankment.

Bohr's mother was in the car with her son, but she survived the crash.

Today's hearing for Suarez will start at 9 a.m. in Hanover County General District Court.
