RICHMOND, VA (WWBT) - Richmond police are talking to witnesses as they continue their investigation into an overnight shooting.

Police said they found a man shot several times. Today, an official with Richmond police said the victim has undergone several surgeries at VCU Medical Center and is still considered in critical condition.

Bullets went flying around 1:30 Wednesday morning in the 5500 block of Campbell Avenue on the city's East End.

Officers tell us they are still trying to figure out exactly where the man was shot. They don't know if he was shot outside, near a car, or elsewhere.

Investigators say witnesses are giving them different stories. That means police need your help trying to piece this case together.

The police need the public's help in tracking down a suspect in the shooting.  There was a black male spotted running from the scene and getting into a white Lexus.  They are looking for information on the Lexus.

If you know anything, call Crime Stoppers at 780-1000.
