Two overnight fires in Richmond under investigation

RICHMOND, VA (WWBT) - Firefighters are investigating two overnight fires in the Richmond area.

An apartment fire started behind the Stony Point Fashion Park Mall. It happened around 1:15 a.m. at the Creek's Edge at Stony Point Complex.

The fire started on a second floor balcony.

There is minor damage to the building's siding and no one was hurt.

Firefighters also fought a house fire about 90 minutes later in the 4200 block of Norborne Road in south Richmond.

The fire started in a bedroom. Crews were able to put out the flames quickly.

The seven people who lived in the house are being helped by the Red Cross.
