CHESTERFIELD, VA (WWBT) - Chances are you have the right electric meter on your house, but if you want to double check for yourself, there's a really easy way to do it.
Every power bill you get has your meter number on it. Just look on the left hand side of the front page and it's printed under your measured usage.
Take your power bill outside to your meter to compare it to your meter's serial number. That's located directly below the barcode in the center of the meter. Mine has stars on each side of the number. The number printed on the bill should match the number on your meter.
On the off chance that it doesn't match, contact Dominion Virginia Power immediately and try to figure out what's going on.
