RICHMOND, VA (WWBT) – It's almost here! In just a few days hundreds of aspiring models will get their chance at a spot on the CW show "America's Next Top Model." We sat down with a modeling industry insider who explains everything you need to know to get a heads up on the competition.

"They need to bring some snapshots with them because sometimes a girl can walk in the room and she can be sort of plain or mediocre, but when you see her pictures or when you see her on a flat surface it really pops off the page and looks amazing!" said Stacie VanChieri.

Vanchieri is a modeling agent and CEO of Modelogic Wilhemena here in Richmond. She represents hundreds of area models and tells Top Model hopefuls that after snapshots, your appearance is the next important thing.

"So we always ask, you know, a pair of great fitting jeans, a tank, wear your hair back in a ponytail, not a lot of makeup," said VanChieri. "We want to see what's under all of that."

Next door in the photo studio we caught up with one of Vanchieri's models, Abbey Sowick. She's been going to castings since she was seven years old.

"You just have to be strong with yourself to go into a competition like that," said Sowick. "I mean really confidence is the main thing for me with this whole industry. You really have to know yourself and be confident with that and once you have that figured out then you're pretty good to go!"

The next step is actually wowing the casting agents. Vanchieri believes it takes more than just a pretty face to make it on the show. You've got to have personality.

"I think they're looking for beautiful girls with the kind of attitude where they're completely open and very out there," she said.

And once you've put your best foot forward all you can do is sit back and hope you are what the judges are looking for. And if you're ready to try out for the show, here's what you need to know:

The America's Next Top Model auditions are being held this Thursday February 17th at Willow Lawn from 11 a.m. - 6 p.m. Get here early, they are expecting a huge crowd.
